Whether a student is considering a 2-year, 4-year, or career and technical education, this presentation will provide an overview of the various scholarship and grant programs administered by THEC/TSAC to help students and parents fund higher education. Information regarding the TN Step Up scholarship, a scholarship designed to provide funding for students with intellectual disabilities, the TN Promise Scholarship, and the Hope Scholarship will be shared. Most importantly, tips to help families successfully complete the FAFSA and upcoming FAFSA completion and Q&A events will be shared. This is a presentation you don’t want to miss!
Felicia Orr is the Director of College Access for the Tennessee Higher Education Commission/Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation. Her career in higher education spans over 18 years with 13 of those years working specifically with financial aid. During her career, she has had the opportunity to be the guest speaker, conference presenter, district trainer and panelist for several events organized by The Memphis Branch of the Federal Reserve, congressional and state representative offices, several mayoral offices, school districts and several professional and community organizations. Felicia is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University and Sullivan University. Her volunteer service includes being a TN Achieves mentor, serving on the Davis YMCA advisory board, a founding member of the Whitehaven Memphis South Rotary Club and having served on the Mayor’s Memphis Advisory Council for Citizens with Disabilities Education & Employment Committee.
