Instructions

  • Practice comparing and contrasting information about labor markets and types of employmentCLICK HERE
  • Download the Graphic Organizer Activity Sheets
  • Choose two types of employment or job types that interest you
  • Use your local labor market information to fill in the similarities and differences between the two options
  • Organize this information by filling out the Venn Diagram or the T-Chart
  • Use this tool to help you decide which option would be the best fit for you

  • Select a career cluster that interests you. If you need more information about career clusters, check out this website: Career Clusters: Choose your pathway to success
  • Select a job you are interested in that is in your community and falls under that cluster
  • Click here to go to O*Net OnLine
  • Use the information from O*Net to answer the questions on the Job Exploration Recording Form
  • Select an experience-based activity to complete in your local community and answer the questions about the job you have selected to explore
  • Answer the reflection questions as you think about if this job option would be a good fit for you

Reflect

  • How does this type of employment align with your preferences, interests, needs, and strengths?
  • If you were to apply for this position would you want to work part-time or full-time? Are both options available?
  • Based on the labor market information you gathered, is this job in high demand or low demand?
  • What are some other job opportunities that may fall under your desired career cluster that you would be interested in exploring?
