Instructions
After completing self-assessments to identify your learning styles, career interests, and self-determination skills, set up a time to visit a business or interview an employee to gather information about the daily job tasks the different employees perform. Think about if your skills and interests would be a good fit for any of the job positions at the business.
- Complete self-assessments and gather the results
- Set up a job shadowing experience or informational interview in-person, over the phone, or virtually with an employee at a local business
- Download the Job Task Recording Sheet
- Before you complete your job shadow or interview, research the business and add any questions you have for the employer to the recording form
- As you observe the workplace or interview the employee, identify and list at least 3 job tasks that employees at the business are completing
- Answer each question as it relates to the job tasks you observe
- Complete the reflection questions as you think about how you can use your self-assessment results to explore more job options
