Virginia’s CTE Resource Center supports career and technical and occupational-technical preparation programs by providing resources for curriculum development and program design and implementation in response to the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act. The 2020-2021 CTE course information will soon be posted at this link: Verso. Workplace Readiness Skills Updated for 2019–20
The Virginia Department of Education, with research assistance from the Weldon Cooper Center, has revised the Workplace Readiness Skills for the Commonwealth. Two new skills—initiative and self-direction, and information literacy—have been added, and telecommunications has been merged with information technology. The result is 22 skills among three domains: Personal Qualities and Abilities, Interpersonal Skills, and Professional Competencies.
