This activity is designed for students to explore careers from the U.S. Bureau of Labor website, including understanding which careers are fast growing and exploring other occupations.
The following scavenger hunt activity sheet is for students to record their findings. Give students points for information they find on the BLS website for each question.
Tips for Implementing and Adapting Activity:
- If you have limited access to technology, you can print out web pages and hang them up around the classroom for students to find information
- If students are completing the activity virtually, they can screenshot web page information or copy and paste links to information they have found
- Model how to interact with the website. Give support, as needed, for locating information
- Define any relevant vocabulary. See the Transition Tennessee Student Website course on Exploring Work Options for vocabulary cards that may help support learning
- Support students in using screen reading technology, if necessary
- Encourage students to select an occupation to explore that interests them and that aligns with any career assessments they have taken
