Whether the goal is a four-year college or university, community college, technical college, military or joining the workforce, academic advisement from a professional school counselor plays a key part in any student’s transition from high school to post-secondary plans. This is even more important for students with disabilities. This presentation will provide an overview of key details to consider and options for all students when preparing for a successful academic and post-secondary transition plan for students with disabilities.
Presenter Bio:
Dr. Joe Gordon received his Master of Education in School Counseling from Vanderbilt University and his Doctorate of Education in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University. He served as a middle school counselor in Metro Nashville Public Schools for ten years and is currently a Coordinator of School Counseling for MNPS’s Counseling Services Department.
