This informative session discussed Tennessee Tech Connect (TN Tech Connect), a collaborative program between Pathfinder and the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD). TN Tech Connect provides resource information on assistive and enabling technology. The website portal connects individuals with disabilities to tools available to increase their capabilities.
TDOE and TransitionTN hosted a webcast aimed to enhance educators’ ability to write comprehensive and insightful Summary of Performance documents that reflect the unique needs and accomplishments of students with disabilities, ultimately fostering a more inclusive and supportive educational and postsecondary environment. The webcast covers various aspects, including writing and incorporating tailored educational plans to enhance the student’s ability to understand and explain their current academic and functional performance. This involves providing strategies for effectively communicating a student’s achievements, challenges, and recommendations to being successful across various settings. The goal is to equip educators with practical tools and approaches to create a Summary of Performance that caters to the unique requirements of students with disabilities, fostering their post-school success.
